The 2019 vintage is widely regarded as a modern classic in the Langhe, characterized by a hot summer followed by a mild autumn that allowed for a long hang-time and mid-October harvest; this climatic balance fostered wines of immense structure and freshness. Rooted in the region's signature calcareous and stony soils, the terroir imparts a distinct mineral backbone and power typical of the Helvetian soils found in this commune. Winemaker Sergio Germano employs a philosophy that marries tradition with precision, utilizing a 20-to-30-day skin maceration followed by 18 to 24 months of aging in medium-sized oak barrels to integrate the fruit with the wood.
